Produced from the Camelia Sinensis bush - the same one from which black, green and other teas are produced. It owes its name ( Purple Tea ) to the color of fresh leaves , which, thanks to the high concentration of anthocyanins , have a purple tint. After processing, they gain a color similar to black tea leaves.
Purple tea produces a bright infusion with noticeable floral, fruity and caramel notes , and has a flavor bouquet similar to Oolong. It is lighter than black tea and at the same time not as vegetal as green tea.
Fresh from brewing Ceylon Amethyst tea, you can observe a light purple glow on its surface, visible only when the drink is hot.
